This Winter begins with Saturn (tail end of Libra) trine Neptune, and Venus joining Neptune in Pisces in mid January. On Feb. 2 Venus opposes Mars in Virgo, then proceeds to conjunct Uranus (2/10). This seems to be a season characterized by kindness, gentleness and good intentions, plus collective awareness of what is wrong in the world and in our relationships, and the ability to identify specific problems and fix them. Furthermore, there is a willingness to connect with the past in very meaningful and forgiving ways, and go forward with unconventional solutions. The end of the season may bring some fireworks and changes, so we must prepare and work hard for the best. This aspect greatly amplifies our ability to take charge collectively, and make drastic, perhaps shocking changes in our lives and in our world. Neptune in Aquarius/Pisces enhances our ability to merge energy with others, and visualize/create a different reality - all this adds up to great changes to come... CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE ~ Mewsings from Venus & Mars ~ Venus is in Aquarius 12/21 to 1/13 and Mars is in Virgo from 11/11 to 7/3/2012 (retrograde 1/24-4/14) - female energy is open, friendly and intellectual. Women may seem somewhat aloof or indifferent socially or emotionally - and this is really because of a heightened sense of objectivity and detachment, which is a valuable trait in any conflict or stressful situation. The trick is to not take things personally... (Aquarius tends to look at everyone with the same, impartial eyes... you will be special again soon!) Males may be taking on more responsibility around the home, and feeling they need to complete or perfect things in various ways. Whatever is found to be insufficient, lacking or less than ideal may come under closer scrutiny. This is a great time for everyone to work together to find innovative or ingenious ways to get things done, and get along. Venus forms aspects with a number of planets in turn thru much of the winter, while Mars energy is not as active. Females will likely take the lead more often, and be more visible in the world. 12/28 - 1/13- sudden, surprising, perhaps karmic meetings can lead to a serious, meaningful relationship or creative endeavor. 12/31 - be careful not to jump in too quickly - lots of sexual attraction. 1/4 - a strong desire for travel/knowledge/expansion. 1/9 - beneficial karmic contacts (irresistable?) Venus is in Pisces 1/14 to 2/7/12. From 1/14 - 1/22, look for great chemistry, empathy and good luck in relationships, with potential for substantial healing and understanding. 1/20 is especially enjoyable and 1/30 brings very strong attractions. 1/31 - 2/25 - Jupiter sextile Chiron can help ease tension between couples, as Venus/Mars opposition (exact 2/2) will likely bring clashes. As long as our attention remains on each other's well being, we can go a long way toward growing our relationships forward. Keep in mind that hiding from problems will create further problems! 2/7 - 2/15 - Venus in Aries conjuncts Uranus, then squares Pluto - bringing a new sort of female energy... unpredictable, fast moving, perhaps even reckless. This can lead to blowups, naturally, and Pluto's no help there. I advise keeping a close eye on loved ones with temper or self-control issues, and practicing artful, tactful, and most of all - enticing redirection! Creative energy can really take off here tho. 2/16 - 2/27 could be break up and rebound, or make up and work things out time - your choice! By the end of the month, things may definitely reach crisis mode - sincerity and hard work with a focus on spiritual connection can go a long way toward avoiding a sad scene. 3/4 Venus in Taurus opposes Saturn (let's take love seriously!), and 3/8-16, a Mars, Jupiter/Venus, Pluto grand trine in earth signs brings retro Mars to life - there is increased sensuality and physical connection... but (depending on your personal planets) can this can also mean financial problems - primarily due to over-confidence and/or inaction. Things could come to a grinding halt, with karmic results. Merc is also conj. Uranus- beware of over-reaction. I advise taking stock of possessions/assets of all kinds beforehand. Perhaps the nature of this trine will help further the cause of alternative, natural, local economies - a greater interest in self sufficiency. (exact 3/13, Moon/Pluto - 3/15). Mars will be retrograde until 4/14! This can mean feeling un-productive, re-doing things, and re-thinking how we do things, but hopefully - making up our minds to do things right. With Mars in Virgo I see great potential for self-examination and realistic, conscious action. Saturn in Libra 'til 10/5/12 - relationship challenges, restrictions and high expectations. Chiron in Pisces (til 2018) - empathy building, spiritual healing, unconditional love heals all. 3/11 - Uranus in Aries (til 2019) - risk taking, bold innovation, sudden independent actions. Neptune in Aquarius (til 2012) - innovations in humanitarianism, Pluto in Capricorn (til 2024)- dismantling and restructure of established order. 3/5/11 - 9/1/12 - North Node in Sagittarius - a focus on honesty and freedom! Uranus Square Pluto - shake-up the powerful, Neptune septile Pluto - spiritual revolution We are still being challenged - to partner, co-create and encourage a spirit of family wherever we may find ourselves. The very long Uranus/Pluto square is an important catalyst for change. Pluto in Capricorn shakes up the very structure of our world, while Uranus in Aries propels us into mind blowing new frontiers. Ambition is fueled, or perhaps frustrated, by lofty ideas and sudden, irresistible inspiration. Misguided leaders will seek to maintain the status quo, but powerful revelations and events will pound them intermittently into submission. For those who feel completely overwhelmed by difficult circumstances or tragedy, it must be remembered that the karmic wheel is turning faster these days, and we must welcome opportunities to heal bitter pain by starting anew and opening our hearts to those in need. Uranus square Pluto - 2011 to 2015 ... presents crises, shocks, drastic changes, awareness, karma, death and hopefully rebirth in a number of areas indicated by Aries and Capricorn - self determination and new frontiers (Aries), and personal / social accomplishment (Capricorn). The last such aspect occurred from 1930 - 1935 during the Great Depression and events leading up to World War II. Pluto was in Cancer (breakdown of families/nations), and Uranus in Aries (karmic events affecting self-determination). Human rights were a prevailing theme - and they were trampled repeatedly, but awareness grew. This time, with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, the square is once again in Cardinal Signs - with leadership as the core issue, so we can expect that the actions and cooperation (or not) of world leaders will once again have a profound and perhaps more shocking than usual effect upon our lives. Aries and Capricorn are naturally competitive. Selfish acts, policies put forth for personal gain (for the elite) and oppression of the masses have been the norm for eons, and oppression inevitably leads to violence. With Uranus and Pluto in these signs, this ambition without conscience is likely to prove disastrous. Competition for the good of all however will yield the sweetest of fruits. This aspect is in play summer 2011 (nearly exact June - September), and more so from June - Oct. 2012, with exact hits 6/24 and 9/18, and several returns in coming years - 5/20/13, 11/1/13, 4/21/14, 12/15/14 and 3/17/15. This square is preceded by the Uranus/Pluto conjunction in Virgo in the mid 60's... the seeds of our modern day revolution. The hope then was to purify the world and ourselves - to connect more naturally with mother earth and with each other. With the seed reaching crisis stage now during square aspect, this hope may be realized as our social structures (Capricorn) and our individual rights (Aries) are shaken by the roots. If we can ride the waves of change without fear, we can dismantle the unnatural creations that threaten to alter us - chemicals, radiation, toxic/violent thoughts - and replace them with what nature has provided us in already perfect form - we need not "fear the reaper", but welcome our beautiful Earth back, with joy and gratitude for her gifts!

The powerful Neptune/Pluto septile has passed (was in and out of close orb into 2011), but I leave this here for reflection.... For those of us who are very creative, bright inspiration can bring influential, explosive, mind-blowing creations. In love - the potential for making inspired changes is heightened - yet there also exists the possibility of getting lost in confusion. Avoid falling into a pit of despair, or indulging in self-destructive activities. Getting nowhere fast? Look for Creative and Healthy, Inspired, Loving outlets to save your skin! Get involved in helping others.... this is especially important now! Neptune/Pluto can bring the sort of fanaticism that has not been seen since the last such aspect at the beginning of WWII. Yet - this aspect also has the potential to inspire lasting, humanitarian changes throughout the world.

Jupiter in Taurus from 6/4/11 to 6/10/12 brings increased opportunites for financial security and overall comfort and enjoyment of life. One's personal values may be broadened and expanded as we explore individually and collectively what it truly means to be prosperous and cared for. For those who take financial risks, it may be wise to heed advice from people with more cautious attitudes. However, there is potential for windfalls. Follow your higher voice (listen carefully!), take your time before making decisions, and immediately recognize and trust warning signs and gut feelings. This is also a good time for travel, particuarly road trips, and to explore new territories in music and art.   3/5/2011 to 9/1/2012 - The North & South Nodes are on the Sagittarius/Gemini axis, bringing new or renewed relationships based on mutual trust and respect for other's freedom of movement and self expression. Cultivating a sense of humor and communicating with honesty will be the theme during this time. Dishonesty, fickleness or frivolity in our relationships will be less well tolerated, and may result in breaks in friendships. Chiron in Pisces from Feb. 2011 to mid-April 2018 brings a strong focus on healing and compassion for others, with the potential to cultivate powerful skills in those areas. Those who tend to withdraw from society may feel even more inclined to do so, and healing in the area of substance abuse will become more important than ever. Giving to others without thought of return is an important theme during this time, as well as developing one's ability to empathize and act with true compassion in times of crisis.

Saturn in Libra from July 21, 2010 to October 5, 2012 brings our relationships to the forefront, forcing us to look at what we choose to see in ourselves and others. How do we get along? How do we perceive those we are close too? Do I sometimes project my own self-image onto others, effectively blaming them for my own faults? Am I looking for others to fulfill whatever I believe I lack? Am I even conscious of these things? This is the time to take relationships seriously, and to see the truth behind what is mirrored, and what is within oneself. Uranus in Aries - 3/11/11 to 2019 brings an era of increased activity for social change, inspired and fueled by our pioneering, inventive, spirits. As we each go out on our own journeys of self-discovery and self-improvement - we are also affecting everyone around us. This is the time to make sure our actions are well thought and played out, even when inspired by the highest of intentions. We may find that we are getting better and better at listening to our higher voices, to the voice of reason and morality, and to those voices that whisper warnings, reminders and wise advice. Those who tend to be reckless may be more so during this time, but if that recklessness is inspired by the highest intentions for all, the result will probably be worth the risk. Neptune in late Aquarius (til 2/3/12), and early Pisces is helping to set our expressions of love and creativity into positive, innovative motion. A change in the prevailing style in movies, fashion and art has been seen - and we are likely feeling much more comfortable with the many unusual, shocking, rebellious, and inter-cultural manifestations of human expression. There was a soujourn into early Pisces from early April to early August 2011, giving us a taste of what's to come - a double dose of Neptunian/Piscean empathy, compassion, spiritualism, isolationism, escapism, nihilism, and total immersion in whatever it is that brings us peace. Talk about death and afterlife will abound, and there may be a greater merging of spiritual ideas worldwide. As structures break down (see below), spirituality must grow, and Neptune in Pisces brings the perfect balance for a radically changing world. Pluto in Capricorn until 2024. The very fabric of society may begin to be re-woven - but not before old structures are dismantled. Capricorn is about authority, success, achievement and social order. Pluto is about death and regeneration. Pluto asks us to dig deeper into ourselves to discover the true meaning of success, and to use what is best in this world to create something much better. We now need to take bold action on our most innovative and humanistic, earth supporting ideas (Uranus in Aries, Neptune in Aquarius!!), and not descend into blind destructiveness, greed or desperation.
